Issue and return of books
Maintenance of circulation module of library management software (Brain V.2.16).

Issue Return Procedures
Issue/Return of library materials is the routine operation of the library. The Proper sequence of activities for issue and receipt of library books is defined as follows
Books Issuing
A quick verification is needed before issuing of books for any damage
Details into issue database are entered member ID, and Book Accession No.
The books are handed over to the member with the due date.
Books Return
A quick verification book return is needed before return of books for any damage.
Due dates are checked for necessary action.
The books are sent to stack for shelving.
If the book returned after the due date, Re.5/- per day is collected as overdue charge
Rules for Library
Readers must leave their belongings in the property counter.
Readers should not left their valuable items in the property counter.
Readers should sign in the visitors register while visiting the library.
Strict silence to be observed in the library premises.
Scribbling, underlining and tearing of pages of books are strictly prohibited.
Primary sources like Reference books, Project reports, University question papers, News papers are not permitted for lending; Readers are allowed to take photocopies within the library premises with nominal cost.
Readers are requested to check the condition of the issued book. Any damages or missed pages identified may be reported to the librarian.
Readers are responsible for loss of borrowed books, if any loss occurs readers should replace a copy of the same book with Rs.100/- as fine. In case due to unavailability of stock three times of the latest price of the book will be collected.
Necessary action will be taken by the competent authority against the Users who Misuse the services, facilities, collection etc
Documents that can be borrowed
Books from the general shelf can be borrowed.
Demand Books can be borrowed only for one day.
Documents that cannot be borrowed
Journals, Bound Volumes, Loose issues of journals and the latest available issue of the magazines are to be referred within library premises and are not available for borrowing.
CD’s, DVDs and audio video cassettes cannot be borrowed.
Thesis and Dissertations are not issued.
Overdue Charges
Books that are returned after the due date are considered overdue. Uniform fine policy was approved by the library committee.
A fine amount of Re. 5/- per day per book is collected from the students as overdue charges.
Loss of Books/ID Card
Library materials should be handled with care.
The loss of Library books or Library ID Cards should be reported immediately.
“Readers are responsible for loss of borrowed books, if any loss occurs readers should replace a copy of the same book with Rs.100/- as fine. In case due to unavailability of stock three times of the latest price of the book will be collected.” Instead of “If any book is lost, the borrower should replace it by a new book or she/he the same author and title has to pay triple the cost of the book price and with a fine of Rs.100/-.”
Theft / Misuse of Library Resources
The theft or abuse of library resources like books, journals, thesis, and dissertations is viewed as a serious offence.
Each case will be examined and reported to the authorities.
No Dues Certificate
No Dues’ concerning library membership will be issued by the library only after the library dues are fully cleared upon completion of programme.
An employee can get “No dues” for resignation / relieving only after fully clearing his/her library account.
Library Access by visitors
Interested students/ researchers from outside are allowed to utilize the library resources if they produce valid identity cards with appropriate permission letter from the registrar.
