The Electronics and Communication Engineering programme provides students with a strong
theoretical and experimental understanding of the principles underlying hardware and
software. All Engineering programs are based on a common first year, with specialization
beginning in the second year of study.
The curriculum is a mixture of discipline-specific
engineering courses rounded out with knowledge-broadening courses in sciences and humanities.
The fourth year of a Bachelor’s degree in Electronics and Communication Engineering includes an
engineering design project, in which students must both define the problem and identify the
solution. Laboratories are well equipped and the department in association with TEJAS Networks,
Bengaluru has established a Centre of Excellence for Next Generation Networks.
This center provides
hands on training to the students on Installation and commissioning of Optical Networking Switches.
