About the Centre
The Centre of Excellence for Training and Research in Automation Technologies was set up at Periyar Maniammai Institute of Science and Technology (PMIST) in association with M/s Bosch Rexroth India Ltd at based on a MOU. Four laboratories viz. Hydraulics, Pneumatics, Programmable Logic Controllers and Sensorics have been set up at the Centre.
The uniqueness of this institute lies in its state of the art technology, which has world class equipment, training kits, hardware, software and teaching aids with adequate faculties trained from Rexroth Germany. The Centre aims to provide hands on training in Industrial Automation to students and faculties related to Engineering and Diploma from various institutions and Industry personnel, to upgrade their technical skills which are essential for the industry progress.
12 Staff members of PMIST who were trained by M/s Bosch Rexroth India Ltd., at Visvesvaraya Technical University at Mysore are the Trainers at the Centre.
This Centre was inaugurated by His Excellency Dr.A.P.J Abdul Kalam in the presence of Dr. K. Veeramani, Hon'ble Chancellor, Dr VKN Kannappan, Hon'ble Pro Chancellor, His Excellency Mr Nikolay A Listo Padov, Consul General of Russian Federation, South India, Dr.A.Sivathanu Pillai, CEO & MD , BrahMos Aerospace, New Delhi, Dr Rajan R Natarajan, Dy Secretary of State, Policy & External Affairs, Maryland, USA., Dr G Jagadeesh, Professor of Aerospace, IISc. Bengaluru and Mr A Rajkumar, Vice President, M/s Bosch Rexroth India Ltd.
