The Department of Physical Education plays a significant role in developing confidence and competence in the minds of young athletes. PMIST provides a wide opportunity to enhance every aspiring sports student to stay fit and energetic.
The facilities provided in the campus enables them to practice and perform by using their tactics, strategies and team sprit. Students are taught how to maintain their physical fitness, analyse any situation and make decisions in tracks or in stadium whenever required.
As a result, they develop their confidence and learn about the moral values about health and social responsibilities.
Every athelete will perform as individual and in groups as well as in teams with more responsibilities like leading the team, coaching and officiating whenever required.
Spacious multipurpose indoor stadium and well laid tracks and playground within the campus enables the students to train and practice to achieve their goal. We welcome you to our PMIST family for attaining disciplined sports achievements and a fruitful academic career.

Yoga
Yoga is a traditional practice that synchronizes the body, mind and soul. It has its origin from the early Vedic period. The word 'Yoga' has its root from the Sanskrit 'Yuj', meaning 'inaithal' or 'to merge as one'. Yoga is misunderstood by many as a spiritual practice, in ancient times it was considered as a way of life. People of all ages, cultures, traditions and religions can part-take in the benefits it has to offer.
The purpose of implementing the traditional practices of yoga as a part of the scholastic is to build personal efficacy, self-culture, clarity of mind and physical fitness
Students as well as faculty both teaching and non-teaching greatly benefit from the enlightening practices of yoga by the Department of Physical Education.
