Periyar Maniammai hospital was established during the year 1991. It has rendered more than 30 years of its service to the student, faculty members and to the nearby villager.

The Hospital is functioning 24x7 with 20 bed facility located inside the campus. It has a full time Medical officer, two para-medical assistants. The hospital functions round the clock as a maternity centre. Moreover an operation theatre is functioning for sterilization surgery and Clinical laboratory is also available for investigations. MoU has been signed with a neighboring Hospital administration at Thanjavur. Ambulance is provided on emergency call services.

PMIST hospital extends its services to the public in and around the campus and also to people from Periyar PURA villages. The health workers visit the villages twice a week periodically and conduct medical camps like Blood donation camp, siddha medical camp, eye camp, cancer awareness and detection camp in the adopted villages and also providing medical consultations to all staff and students.
