About

The Department of Aeronautical Engineering was established in the year 2010 and it was renamed as Department of Aerospace Engineering in 2012. The Department has well equipped laboratories and good infrastructure to meet the university curriculum requirements and is managed by a dedicated team of teaching and non-teaching faculty of rich and varied experience. The department has been involved in activities supporting our national ambitions in the field of Aerospace Engineering through various projects. Continued interaction with Airforce station, Thanjavur has led to mutually beneficial research activities. The Department arranges visits to Bharat Heavy Electricals Ltd, Hindustan Aeronautics Limited, TBRL, BrahMos,Vikram Sarabhai Space Center, Taneja Aerospace & Aviation Limited and Airforce station, Thanjavur. The department runs strong undergraduate program in Aerospace Engineering, and carries out research in several areas of aeronautical and aerospace Engineering.

To be Preminent in Aerospace Engineering education by instilling a sense of responsibility for ethical practice and of concern for the environment and adapting to changes in societal needs thereby leading the wider Aerospace community with advances in the sub-disciplines in which we concentrate.
